I am about to redo the brakes on my 68 ranger. Is there a year of a ford truck that would have front discs that I could look for at a salvage yard and convert to discs or do I have to buy a complete disc brake swap over from another manufacturer? Thanks
73 through 79 F-100 or F-150,
But like the post above says, read the "Read 1st" thread. Then use search functions available. This is a common subject and a popular upgrade that has been covered many many times here. These articles will give you all the information you seek and will need to do this common upgrade brake improvement.
Has anyone thought about using 73-90 Econoline brake parts for a conversion? I haven't heard of anyone using these, I threw that out to see if someone has. I don't know myself if it would work, I haven't tried it. I have eye balled it before and it looks like it might fit. They might even be the same as 73-79 F100 part #.
