Post 390 build-up

Hey all, I would like some advice for a 390 novice here. I would like to add a little "oomph" to the 1968 F-250 w/390 I own. I am not ready to do a full engine rebuild here just yet. What advice would you give? Manifold? Carb? Ignition? Headers? What order should I do the additions? Thanks for your help.

390 build-up

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 06-Oct-02 AT 08:17 PM (EST)]All those are good bolt on ideas. If I am correct in saying that the 360 and 390 exauhst manifolds are the same, then I would go for the headers first since the stock manifolds are JUNK! A set of headers will increase power and cool your engine. But they are not cheap. An intake is always a good idea too cuz your stock one weighs bout 90lbs. and will usually give you more power. All the choices you listed are good places to start. If it where me id go for the headers.
