Well I read on here how bad a job it was to change oil filter the first time, I was too stupid to listen. Wished I had carried to dealer. By the way it's 07 150 w/ 5.4 , finally went and purchased a strap type filter wrench at Advance Auto, that did the trick. Whoever at Ford, that designed where to put oil filter needs to be designing women's shoes! I'll stop venting now.
Greetings to everyone. I am a new member of this forum.
I just did the 1st oil change in my 07 5.4L last week and boy oh boy did I ever had fun.
I purchased a Cap style filter wrench ( PLEWS LubriMatic 93mm with 15and 36 flutes) to do the job. The cap is the right size but very shallow and the flutes do not fit properly on the filter. The wrench "pops" out every time I turn it. I ended up puchased a strap wrench and it did the tricks.
If anyone knows where to buy or the brand and part numbers of a better fit filter wrench for the OEM FL820S filter please let me know.
Only my first time is it too hard to take off, damn robots are strong as hell!! After that I've been able to take them off with my hands, and no oil leakage between changes(its a gift,HaHa). Did I mention I was double jointed?? JUST JOKING!
