Does anyone know the exact code and manufacter's name for the "silver" color on the panel between the front chrome bumper and the bottom of the grille on a '66 F250. I'm about to sand-blast mine and want to give my painter some clues as to which paint to have ready. Thx, all. Jeff
I have found only one thing in my book...its called 'aluminum' used 65 up it says Fords number for it is AE611724E Its an acrylic enamel...book also says all rigs built after 12/28/64 with gray backgrnd patent plates(door tags) are shot with acrylic enamel.
a couple of parts that come to mind being this same color are the dog dish hubcaps and the rear view mirror and visor mounting/retaining clips...a good paint store should be able to get a good sample off of the backside of those or possibly the gravel shield on the bottom side.
If you are in need of a sample in case you dont have one, give a holler...I have a few spares with that color on them.
