Hello, You never responded to my email query on your site. My question was, "Do you offer the Volant CAI with the PowerCore filter, if so, what is the cost?". I'm a big JLT fan and really like the "oil-less" S&B filters that they use. I had the JLT-SCT/Bama set-up on my Stang and loved it. I'm not ready for a tune on my 07 FX4 just yet. I feel that the Volant/PowerCore will hold me over for a while. Thanks!

I’m new to this site, however, not new to vehicle forums. I spent a great deal of time on Mustang Source Forum, which has great "sponsors /venders". That how I came to meet Doug from BamaChips- Great guy! I just sold the Stang and purchased an 07 FX4. Your reputation precedes you, hence, my contact. I haven’t really shopped around, however, I did see the "set-up" on the following site: http://www.autoanything.com/air-inta...0A2606094.aspx . It did seem kind of high. Not sure that this filter(PowerCore) is $65.00 better that the oiled-type that you’re offering. I have had good luck with the oil-free filters(i.e., S&B with the JLT set-up) and preferred to stay with them. Do you have an opinion of the new PowerCore? I still may go with the JLT/SCT/Bama. Thanks

Well the powercore is a good design, developed by Donaldson, and used in OEM applications, such as the 6.0 diesel in the superduty. It is actually a REALLY good filter, and can hold pounds of dirt and dust and still flow perfectly. Is it necessary? Im not sure, Donaldson makes some other medias that are a little more wallet friendly, so its really up to you, but if in the future you plan to use the Bama tunes, then I would consider the JLT intake.

Hello! The Volant Intake is availlable with the Powercore for the 2004 to 2007 F150. It is shipping now! It is also availlable to fit most other after market intakes. This filter is used by GM and Ford on the Powerstroke Diesel, the Duramax , Cadillac XLR and the Vette Z06. On the diesel end they were tired of the cotton gause filters "Dusting the Turbos" Once you add enough layers to get enough protection to a pleated filter, you lose air flow and performance! The Powercore flows better and out protects the high-end multi-layer cotton gauze/synthetic/polyester filter and is guaranteed for 100,000 miles!

The lab numbers say it all!

Well that powercore does add a little to the price of the intake. I can do the 5.4 intake with the powercore for $309 shipped in the states. It will take a few extra days to get the intake from volant since it is such a new part.

Sounds like a good price. I have a few more questions. I noticed on your site that you inform that the S&B CAI(SB-75-5016) quote, "... is your #1 pick", however, from reading all of you post on this forum I notice that you really like the Volant set-up, and that you even have it installed on your own vehicle. Can you compare the two in performance gains(hp & tq), reduction in throttle lag, volume(loudness), and the potential for throwing codes? Also, does the S&B have an oil-type filter? On this forum, as well as other Ford F150 sites, there is about a 10-1 ratio for Volants over S&B's. I find that strange as they appear to be very similiar in that they both have the enclosed filter and cost about the same. Thanks!

Bob,
Hows come you no longer carry the outlaw cai?

Know you have been ill and trying to catch up, but ive emailed you a couple of times with inquiry to a product and haven't heard back from you on it.
So im not sure if my emails are going thru, or if youre just busy trying to catch up.

Bob, I'm still awaiting for your expert opinion on the comparison so that I can pull the trigger. Please advise...
