Front carrier

Iam helping my step son remove the ring gear out of his front rear.The axle shafts are out the caps an cap bolts are out,but the carrier won't come out .What i'm I missing

It should fit in the housing pretty tight. They usually need to be pryed out with a bar.

We tried the pry bar ,block of wood an hammer ,an still no movement.
