I just wanna full size muscle sedan from Ford. A car that will compete with 300C and Charger.
I like Lincoln MKR concept just as much.
Ford already has such models except they are located in the "land down under"
I can't understand why Ford is basically blackballing themselves in the North American market when it comes to the sedan market.
Chrysler/Dodge and Chevy have the ***** to produce 4 door sedans with V8's that produce the same or more power than their bread and butter Mustang GT's. Yet we here get limited production cars ( Maurader ) that run faster on paper than they do on the street. ( ie, getting beat by mini-vans )
All it took was one visit to the Ford Austraila site to realize what Ford has out there and what they are depriving us North Americans of.
I'm not slamming Australian's in any way here. Hell, I like the taste of Fosters Lager, I just wish Ford would share the love and give us a few of those gems that they sell there......
lol, I don't think it matters when he was just trying to stir the pot anyway.
not that there's anything wrong with that. makes it more interesting around here.
Nope, no pot stirring here in the Ford vs Comp section.
Already gave 1 negative concerning the Toy stereo display.
Want another???? The Toy's front tow hooks will rip the crap out of the lower valance if you actually tried to use them.....The Super Duty's hooks are very well thought out.
Pontiac tried with Monaro/GTO and that was a big failure. Now they're trying with Commodore/G8, but I don't think they'll have much success.
As much as I actually like the GTO, and will defend it for being a dang good car, it was probably the wrong car for the US, and the wrong time for it.
I think the biggest failure of it - was its styling... we, here, are notoriously conservative with styling, and it doesn't play a huge part in our decision making process, as long as the car goes like stink.
It plays a much bigger importance in the US market.
That, and the fact that you saw the vehicle at the end of its model cycle. So it wasn't as technological advanced... having said that, you won't find a better mile eater than a GTO...
The G8 should fare better, mostly because it is a much fresher vehicle, with styling that should translate across borders better.
As for the Falcon - you won't see anything, until at least 2010... maybe not till the Huntsman platform commences in 2012.

Same two diffferences apply to the G8 that the GTO lacked IMHO.
My other theory concerning the GTO is that there was only one flavor.....no motor options.
Your old lightning would have looked good in that line-up of vehicles. Congrats on the new truck....I'll say it again that Tundra looks huge compare to the SD.
One reason the GTO didn't do well ion my opinion was they didn't go w/ the Ford did w/ the Mustang. The mustang is a modernized look of the older car, which you knew. But the GTO is pretty ugly

Monaro-based GTO went on sale a year before Mustang.
Sorry to get off topic (actually back on topic) but I rode in that truck, and I was quite impressed...The interior was so big you could get lost in it, and the damn thing is really fast...I'd take one over an F150 any day.
The only problem was i sat on the tailgate and the frame bent, but then DOHCmarauder sat on the other side and straightened it back out...

Tim
You need to tell the rest of the story..........that frame would have never bent if we hadn't eaten those fly filled steaks!!!!
And it kinda bent a little farther the other way after I sat on it....
Tim, it was a pleasure meeting you and an incredible stroke of luck that you lived an hour from that Toy dealer and basically on the way home for me.
Thanks for taking time from your busy day.
Oh, and my mom says, "Hey"...
