The simplest is a chip or tuner. I currently have a superchip tuner, but hope to have a DP tuner in the next couple of months. I am waiting to get a 5" exhaust first.

They do, you just have to know where to look and who to talk to. A user on another forum has a Hypermax 3.5 dp 5 inch exhuast system. It is rare to see it, but they do exist. With the lift I've got on mine, I'm thinking about going up to 5 inches myself.

The only problem (which I'm not sure they addressed) is the system sits dangerously close to the wheel (for my taste) and if you have bigger tires, you'll have a problem.

Props go to Eric Long for the pics and how-to install

F-250/350 owners were also raving about a guy by the name of Mark Romriel (I think) he makes 5 inch systems in his garage and they're well put together.

why does it have to be so close to the tire? i would think they could make it a little longer.

Best thing for your X is boost/egt gauges, aftermarket intake, 4" exhaust, and a DP-Tuner. This will get things started. If you feel the need for more there are fuel upgrades, larger turbos, and bigger injectors. Pop down to the 7.3L forum to get a feel for what others are doing.

BTW, 5" exhaust is only necessary if you are pushing close to 500HP.
