As the title says, I have an '89 E-350 (7.3l) with a leaking oil pan. This is 'new to me' van / bus. There is some JB weld or similar product on the leading edge of the pan, obviously has been repaired once but it's not holding.
Replacement is the best, if not only, option at this point and I'm wondering what the procedure is. Looks like there is room to drop it out but I'll ask here before I get into it too far.
I have seen some instructions on this site indicating engine needs to raise a few inches, but they are for trucks, not an Econoline, so maybe they don't apply.
Thanks for any input, I'm fairly mechanically inclined but this is new territory for me.
You may still have to lift the engine a little to clear the oil pump pickup tube, you may also have to remove the shift linkage at the trans to keep it from bindind when lifting the engine, and check inside the dog house before lifting to see that everything will clear. Hope this helps
