2001 Ford F250 7.3 PSD CC 4X4
Item 1: The other day my low battery light came on. At about 1800 RPM it would blink several times and go out then start back up under 1800 RPM. Tried to see if I had some error codes but now my chipper won't activate to be able to see error codes. Truck seems to run and start OK.
Item2: Tranny is running upwards to 190 when not towing, which is about 90 degrees over the outside temp. Should I look into a larger tranny cooler than what came with the 2001 truck or is it just a bad sign of things to come?
Went at lunch and got a new alt but I was just one key turn to late. It died and I had to get a jump start, go home and install the new one. My guess is that their testing drained the last juice from the batteries. Light is gone now.
It could also be possible you have a battery about to go out, so if the problem persit, be prepared to get another. I had an internally shorted battery that was a PIA to diagnos.
