Auto Trans identification
I am sure this has been asked before so sorry in advanced. I am new to FTE and still learning how to find the info.
#1. I need to know where and how to verify what trans I have. If this is on the door tag how do you read it?
#2. Dip stick says mercon ( No mercon V), so my question is, is dextronIII/mercon the proper atf or is there just a straight mercon atf.
#3 also I had a factory rebuilt trans installed in 2003. Would they have used mercon V?
#4. If I could get some help with the tag codes. Trying to figure out the diffs. Codes on the tag say R=k Axle=31 SP=UA.
Truck is a 2001, F250, 4x4, auto, extra cab, short box.
Any info would be great. Thanks in advance.

1. Every Superduty from 99-03 with an automatic transmission has a 4R100.
2. I saw straight Mercon once, but my understanding is that it and dextron/mercon are interchangeable.
3. Completely impossible to tell, unless you can find the guy that actually serviced it or the workorder.
4. Try this: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/4...lder_____.html
