I'm looking at a 07 SC 6.5 Bed >(what I'm after) fully-loaded.
My main question is about the Leather seats. Now the dealer is telling me that it's "extra tough hide" and will "wear like Iron" I think he may be giving me a bit of BS here.
Sooooo how's your seats holding up, any fading from the Sun, bad cracks, what about stains from lets say sweat or damp swim trunks etc?
Also one thing I notices and I did not like too much the passenger side bolster was a shade lighter in color then anything else in the Truck! Also on that side was a (natural) scar or two that I thought stuck out a bit toooo much!
Also the surrounding Tan interior looks like it could soil easily...think I can live with that.
*Of course the sales person right away said we'll sell below Invoice and
there 's some $4,000 dealer "extra money" they could discount also.
The Truck Stickers at $43,550...only thing missing is Navagation.
*Any RED flags about this Flex-Fuel Engines...good/bad ,better/worse mileage?
Hmmm I wonder if I could beat'em down K12 or so...?
On the same lot...a Fully Loaded SC 6.5 Bed Lariat (Tri-Sand Color-nice) w/Nav for $42K But with Tan Leather.
Thanks for any feedback.
Ps I think the dealer wants these 07's OFF their lot as they already have a few 08 150's in!

The thing about the seats is they look good when new and they look good when broken in. They don't look so hot in between. Wear marks tend to be darker than the surrounding area. The steering wheel gets to be almost black sometimes. The sun will cause some fading and you have to stay on top of keeping them conditioned. Oily foods will leave more noticable marks.
They will take an absolute beating; When I bought my truck with 8400 miles on it there were a few deep cuts in the seats. As the seats have broken in you don't even notice the cuts anymore. Almosts everything leaves a mark, from books tossed onto the seat to fingernails grazing the center console cover. You can not use the truck without scuffing up the seats. However, all the scuffing tends to fade very quickly to the point where no damage is visible. All in all they are very durable- I expect the stuffing to loose support far before the leather has any structural failure.
I actually cleaned the front seats today. Used a whole bunch of water- seats were absolutely soaked. Seats were almost completely dry 6 hours later and no water marks. Tomorrow I'll condition the seats and Saturday on the way to the mountains the wife will comment on how nice the seats are .
At first I was a little disappointed with the ease with which they scratched but as they've broken in they do take on more "character" as the manual puts it and I like them more and more. I would get these seats again.
As long as you take care of them, like any leather, they will wear awesome. You will never get any cracks, etc. like you do in other leather. They are very tough!! I usually wait until the seats looks a little faded and beat up, and then I wash them and oil them up and they look brand new. The leather is top of the line, like I said very tough!! You can't go wrong plus they look SWEEEEEET!! GOOD LUCK!!
I am on my second King Ranch. The seats are great the leather is first rate. I live in Florida so the sun is intense. I use conditioner every 6 weeks or so and have not had any problems. My Truck is a 2007 with nav. I really do not use the nav that much, but it does come in handy when I do use it. Good luck, you will not regret it.
Thanks for all the great feedback!
I'm still waiting for the dealers manager to give me his best number on this Truck. However I tend to think if it was the end of the month it would be a little better.
*And I just come to find out for 08 the King Ranch will offer Dark Stone Mahogany for a exterior color...could look really nice!
i just got my king ranch ( 06 with 16k) and i i noticed some stratches in the leather on the passenger front seat, other than that all i could tell is that the steering wheel is starting to be black on the top!
No, the dealer did not come down to what I felt was a realistic number so I walked...screw'em. Let someone else take the clubbing on the new vehicle price, these things really don't hold their value...too many of them around!
*My focus is now on a low mileage used 07 Lariat.
Just waiting for the owner to get a (lien free Title) then I'll buy his LOADED 07 S-Crew (6.50 bed) 4x4 White-Tri-Sand 22" chrome wheels, roll-in-lock bed cover, spray-in bed liner, DVD/MP3. I'll also get the factory wheels that has never seen the road, for $26K...time will tell.
The only option I wish it had was a pwr moonroof.

I would never use water or soap on leather. There are plenty of treatments that clean as well as protect.
Damn...all I have is a Lariat. Thicker leather than a car though. The KR's have saddle leather which is BEAUTIFUL. Use the expensive conditioners, and don;t be afraid to use a liquid carnauba wax on them. I know...WAX? That's what it's called. I used to work with leather extensively. It works, and will last a very long time between applications.
