I have a 351w longblock that i want to put into my 94 f-150 will the intake and trans which is a aode bolt to the 351w also will the heads from the 302 work on the 351w.also can i use the fuel injection from my 302 on the 351w.
You will need a flexplate from an 80s Crown Vic with a 5.8/AOD combo to use that trans. The heads will work. You have to do something with the mounting holes. Either drill them out or sleeve, not sure which way it goes. The lower intakes are different. The 351w is wider. Not sure about swapping the upper. EFI should all be the same. Is this truck MAF or SD? Probably, since you have the AODE trans. The y-pipes are different also when you get to that point.
You need a 5.8 specific intake, upper and lower, a distributor, and flexplate. Both Windsors use the same heads so all that's required to mount them on the big brother is drill out the bolt holes. You can reuse the injectors but the fuel rails are further apart on the 5.8 so you either need to cut off the rubber hoses attaching the 2 sides together and put longer pieces on, or just get a 5.8 fuel rail assembly. Because the motor is about 3" wider you will also have to get a 5.8 air injection hose for the back of the motor(if using the thermactor system), and also widen the exhaust Y pipe if using the stock type setup. You will also need a 5.8 computer or a mass air 302 system. All the sensors and associated wiring as well as the vacuum harness can be reused, everything is pretty much located in the same place on the 2 motors.
I appreciate the help i'm not sure if i am going to do all that or either rebuild the 5.0 that is in the truck now. i think i would be better off to just rebuild.again thanks for the help
