I have a 2001 Ford Windstar. When the ABS light came on my a/c stopped working, the speedometer stopped working and my trip meter has dashes. I found a blown fuse (#10) and replaced it. Fuse blew again after one day. What could be causing the fuse to blow?
I would check underneath around the speed sensor wiring. I don't have my stuff with me to tell you where it's located, but the speed sensor would affect the abs and the speedo/trip meter.
Do you have a description on the fuse panel cover on what fuse 10 was for?
Fuse F10 covers a lot of stuff (looks like it caught everything that wasn't important enough to have its own fuse), including the speed control disconnect switch, the ABS module, and the climate control module. Given the SCDS switch's recent history, I check it first just out of principle even though your vehicle isn't included in any of the current recalls. In the event you do happen to find a leaky switch, it needs to be reported to NHTSA.
If the switch is okay, you'll need to start digging through the schematics. This fuse feeds up to sixteen devices, so you've go a LOT of possibilities.
