I'm looking for a new set of wheels for my dually but all I can seem to find are the 20" and up wheels that cost more than my snowmobile. Any ideas on where to look for more reasonably priced stock size wheels? Thanks.
Alcoa is pretty common for dually wheels in stock sizes. I know you can find some 16s on Ebay from Alcoa at about $175 each... I think.
Actual Ford stock rims will be found at junk yards or a lucky score on ebay. Browsing Criags list won't pick up anything worth mentioning. Rim shopping at the dealership will empty your wallet real fast.
After looking at replacements for my cracked alloy rim I just bought all steel and painted them chassis black. Turned out really well but they need a touchup after some heavy use this year.
Check out this Ebay site. These are Weld Sidewinders that apparently just hit the market and what is great about them (other than the fact that they are Welds!) is that they are 6.5" wide and can accomodate a larger tire than the stock 235/85/16 tire that comes from the factory.
As soon as I save some more pennies, these are the ones I am buying.
Do a "dually rim wheel" search on Google; there are a few companies that have some more options but they are incredibly limited in comparison to SRW wheels/rims. Best of luck.
