Anyone have any turbo removal tips? Anything that would make life easier before I remove mine to clean it? Any hidden issues I should know about?
Before anyone asks, yes my truck is still under warranty. The two local dealerships are not what I would call competent with the 6.0 and my truck has ended up with more problems then they fixed.
I'm mechanically inclined so I don't have a problem doing it myself, I just want to make sure there aren't any known issues I could avoid by asking here.
Great Post. If I can do maintenance on my turbo, that is another piece under my control. Does anyone know if we need the a ford turbo service parts kit? I have seen a part number on these. thanks rc
the orings and oil feed line gasket are reusable unless you tear these up. turbo cleaning is not a maintainence item. if it starts sticking, then it may need cleaning. if no problems are evidint, then it is performing properly.
My feelings about o-rings (from aircraft expierence) is that if you disturb the original install, change them, they could start to leak, as for gaskets if they are not torn up you can reuse.
