I'm having a problem staring my truck, but once it's started it runs great. I changed the fuel filter, spark plugs, cap and rotor and wires. Can it be a ignition problem ?
It crank for about 10 seconds, and starts and keeps running, it runs fine, once it starts, but it will start, there are no times that it didn't start. It have yet to shutoff on me, i'm just stumped, it was drove cross country about 700 mile and ran fine, the cranking problem didn't until we reached our destination, and the vehicle sat for about a month, i have put clean fuel in it since.
Check the water level in the battery, Long drives can put alot of stress on a battery. Especially if you are driving at night or with a lot of accesories running, Because it is always charging you can lose some water.
ok, it was a little low, but not that much to make a difference. Actually it's a new battery, are there any other suggestions, i go back to Iraq in a few days, and my Daughter will need to use the truck, not that it's not reliable, but the 10 second start bothers me.
it could be one of many reasons, the battery cables can be dead, corroded, or even your starter is starting to show signs of weekness, its getting the fuel it needs, how badly do your heads leak it prolly might be low on oil
if your 2.9 is tired it takes time for them to crank over, and dont worry about the valve tick its nothing they all come with it
turn off all accessories because who knows maybe even the alt is letting go and to test it remove it take it to local autoparts store and have them test it
