Oil Change
So there is some controversy as to when oil needs changing. Some say every 3 thousand miles because without good oil at high pressure these trucks wont run, some say 5000-6000 miles is ok, I was even told by an older fellow at work that he doesn’t change his until he turns 10000 on the oil (crazy). I know that it depends on the type of oil you run; I like Rotella T 15-40, so what are the regiments in oil people are living by, I do mine every 4000 never heard of new oil hurting anything.

I change my oil more often than is "recommended" as well.
Every 2000 miles and even with that short of a drain interval, the engine has a better tone to it the next day on cold startup. Less harsh sounding.
