Inline 6 and FEs ?

Inline 6 and FEs ?
can a tranny off of an inline 6 mount up to an FE block without major mods? Got a friend with a 6 and he is interested in an FE for it.

It wont bolt up to the FE block, but it will bolt to the FE bellhousing just fine compare the crossmenbers to make sure they are the same I suppose, but I haven't done that yet and my FE bolted up to the 240I-6 tranny with the FE bellhousing just fine
