Truck was parked for 5 days. Went out and started it this morning and the idle was extremely low, so much that it would not stay running without adding throttle. After warmup and driving it around for about 10 minutes it assumed normal operation. This had happened in the past as well, though infrequently. No cel, no codes. I'm thinking it could be the air cleaner diverter valve sticking due to excessive carbon build-up or something in that area. Anyone have any thoughts? The truck is a '94 350XLT cc 7.5/w 214k miles runs like it's new - it passed emissions testing today.
Cannot hurt to clean the IAC.
Use some gas or keroseene.
Just soak it, and adjetate it every now and then.
I use a screw driver to make sure the spring is free floating, and that the plunger can move back and fourth.
Then when i have soaked it once or twice, and toothbrushed it and all that. I hit it with some PB Blaster and dump it out.
