After Market Cruise Control

After Market Cruise Control
I have a 1999 Explorer Sport, 4.0L with factory cruise control. After replacing many parts, to include the steering wheel switches, the cruise still doesn't work and I'm not willing to replace it completely with an expensive factory unit. After-market cruise units come in many shapes, sizes and prices. Some mount on the turn signal shaft while others are dash mounted. Some are vacuum controlled while others are all electronic and plug directly into the vehicle's electrical harness. Some have magnets that hook onto the drive shaft.
Does anyone have experience with these after-market cruise units?? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
