I am trying to wire in a control box from a 1979 F150 into a 1992 F150. Some one has done a carbed 460 swab in the 1992 and has cut all of the wiring. The 1992 has an MSD box and distributor. I want to remove the MSD stuff and replace it with the Ford distributor and control module. Can someone tell me which wires to connect to get this working? The oil and temp units are already bypassed with mechanical hook ups. Thanks
As you can see in the diagram below you need power on the S going to the Ignition Coil and the S going to the Module in the start position of the Ignition Switch. You will need power on the R to send power to the Module and through a Ballast Resistor to the Coil in the Run position.
You can splice into the Red/Blue wire going to the starter relay and run it to the two S terminals in the diagram below. You can also hook the R in the diagram to a to the Red/Green wire coming from fuse U in the Fuse box under the hood making sure you put a Ballast Resistor in the wire going to the Coil.

Thank you for the replies. I am switching back because I am selling the truck. I took it on trade for my Mustang because I wanted the running gear. The swap was done very poorly and I dont have the time to fix all of the issues. I just want to sell it. I might leave the 6a box in it and keep the distributor. That seems to be the simplest route. I am a firm believer in the Duraspark. I am running three different trucks and for my applications the Duraspark works well.

I am not that great with electical, so bare with me please.
There are two plugs coming out of the module.
The first one has two wires, red and a white. The white will go to a switched lead, correct? The red will go where?
Where do I find a ballast and what kind/size/rating?
The second plug has four wires, orange, green, purple, and black. Can I plug it into the harness connecting the distributor (orange,purple,black) to the module utilizing the factory plugs? Connect the green to the tach side of the coil? The red wire connected to the battery side of the coil will go where? I can see the diagram joining the this one to the red one from the module and some how connects to the battery, but how? Do the red wires stay on power at all times?

The Mopar unit (0.5-0.6 Ohms) on a Ford you have to use two in series and you need to use special high temp connectors available from appliance repair shops. They use them for making connections to heating elements. If you use standard crimp connectors they will corrode and fail rapidly from the heat.
