7.3 diesel

I have a 1990 ford f250 with a 7.3 and an ats turbo. I am having problems with the fuel bleeding out of the fuel filter when I shut it off. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

My suggestion is, you take some time and read through the archives. Most of the info you need has already been discused! Good luck!

to save you a little time searching, check your injector lines to see if they're original. if they're gray, they're gonna be original and while they may not show fuel on the valley pan, they CAN and WILL let air back in the system and let fuel drain back to tank. had that problem. much aggravation until it's fixed.

mixrdrivr,
Welcome to FTE and the IDI forum.

Return line tees and O rings, replace the fuel return lines between the injectors.
Common problem, cost is under 50 dollars.

Guess I should have let you guys know what I had already done. The return lines have already been replaced. I have had the fuel line between the filter and the injector pump disconnected and put a clear line on it. I plugged all the other ports in the filter. I would crank the engine until pure fuel would run out the clear line. Then I would plug it off and quit cranking. With all the ports plugged off the fuel still drains out of the filter. Not sure where to go. Is there a check valve inline somewhere?
