I know that I am a lurker here on this site but I thought I would extend my thanks to the many posters around this site. After my water pump started going I ran a search to see what you folks had to say water pump failures and to see how easy it would be on my own to change. Well the change out went as expected "easy" till I got to that !!!!!!!! fan clutch nut. I finally got it but galled the pulley wheel up a bit so off to work I went on my day off and into the machine shop to due a bit of polishing.
As I was doing this I was a bit hesitant to believe there could be sand in the coolant, but I will tell you this I am ordering a coolant filter kit from Dieselsite tomorrow when I get to work. Also going to get one of those alum. thermostat housing and a 203* thermostat.
I do have one problem though, after the change out and refilling the coolant system I ran the truch to operating temp. and tried the heater to make sure I didn't have an air bubble. Well there is no heat and it almost acts like the AC is running when I have heat selected. Any Ideas would be appreciated.
Again thanks for the help even though you folks didn't know about.
