turn a/c on and hear "clunk"

turned on MAX A/C from OFF with the windows down and heard a "clunk". pretty much sounded exactly like that. don't know anything about the a/c system. probable noise? cause for concern? anything i can do?

It's just the compressor clutch engaging, perfectly normal

Lightbulb

ok basically what the a/c compressor is doing when it clunks/clicks it is engaging/disengagin the a/c clutch. when it is engaged it is pressurizing the system refridgerent which when the air is blown by the refridgerent it becomes cold. when the system is fully pressurized it disengages the a/c clutch. and so on. hope that clears up the basic system
