timing marks what was Ford thinking
I just put the normal I do on all truck I get to resell FordRacing 9MM wires msd cap rotor ,and coil,copper Motocraft plugs.
Every time I do this I wonder how you are supposed to see directly at the marker on motor . has the round window in pionter (remove smog pump?)
I like the old style better.
Any ho , this 94 F150 truck has 56000 miles 302 e4od factory MAf
I have had 1 other truck do this .
that you set timing dead on ( spout pulled ) But runs lazy If you bump it till it runs smooth it revs nice but has valve train noise while taching up.
I pick a happy medium but Its funny this truck basically like to be timed by ear .. I had one other do this on ME a 95 I had new . That I would just pull a long hill near by when stop pinging I left alone . Set timming with light and it ran lousy .
I do maybe 2-3 trucks a year and no problemwith others . I gues next tune up I'll pull the dizzy and check TDC and reinstall.
Later I had to vent . I played all morning with it.
