I have just had the strangest problem start happening and I just cannot figure this one out. OK Gurus, you have helped before. Try this. Traveling down the highway, moderate speed, in a slight curve, cross over a crack in road, the crack will yank the steering wheel right out of your hand, in the fight to get it back, there does not appear to be an power assist. It is enough to make your butt checks grab the seat.
System Checks Completed
Hydraulic Pressure is within range.
Steering Geometry checked and within specs. No loose tierods and fresh grease job. Ball joints were checked the old fashion way, no play. Wheel bearings are tight and no slop.
Tires are worn (65%), but plenty of tread and pressure is up to specs.
One thing that I have noticed is that if I am covering the brake (slight pressure) it is worse. Does this sound like the pump. I have noticed also that it is a little more noisey than it has been in the past.
