battery drain??
I have a 1992 F-250 (diesel, 4x4, ext. cab, auto trans) and for some reason my battries seem to be draining. i will jump the truck and it will run fine. shut it off and it will start ok. but if i let it sit for 4-6 hrs and try to start the truck, it just "clicks" or turns over real slow, like when you have a dead battery. by the next mornong, everything is completely dead, no lights, no starting, nada. i took the battries to autozone to be tested and charged and they said that they were fine. what should i do now? thanks for all your help.

You have a parasitic drain. The first thing to do is to make sure everything is turned off, when the key is off. Check to see if the dome light is staying on, although it sounds like it would be a lot bigger draw than what a dome light would make. The way to find a parasitic drain is to hook an ammeter (DMM on Amps scale) in series with the negative battery cable and terminal. You should have no more than about a 50 mili-amp draw with the doors closed and everything turned off. If you have more, you need to remove fuses, one by one, while watching the ammeter until the draw drops. Then you need to follow that circuit til you find the culprit causing the drain.
Good luck and let us know what you find.
