Hi guys, i got a mazda B-3000 here. My girlfriend ran it thursday and it ran fine. Went out today to start it and it starts and shuts right back off. There is no throttle response what soever. If you keep trying to start it it just shuts right off. The fuel pump is running when you turn the key on and i checked all the fuses. Any ideas?
My girlfriend ran it thursday and it ran (insert sexist remark here hehhe) Crank it for about 15 seconds then hit the valve on your fuel rail and see if it has pressure! You say it has no throttle response are you saying it will run with the throttle pressed or is it not running at all?
if your mass airflow sensor is unplugged or the MAF is bad it will do that. it will do the exact thing. i just installed an intake the other day and forgot to hook the plug back up. and it kept dying. i was like WTF plugged it back up and it went.
I would look for two thing that will cause that. smithc185 said one thing to look for (MAF) or huge intake leak between the maf and the throtle body. Also look for the gas shut of or pressure relief valve. Mine is under the glove box inside the cab against the fire wall ( red button in a black plastic box). its to shut off fuel presure due to a crash. I suppose it could pop if a pot hole or something was hit. Just push the button in..... Good luck.
