55 ford grille question

55 ford grille question

I am looking for a 55 f100 chrome grille,or does anyone know where and how much it cost to have one dipped?

No one I've contacted seems to want to dip one without disassembling them at the spot welds.

I think the real issue is the labor / difficulty of prepping the surface inside the grill bars for chrome and polishing the chrome between the grill bars afterward. I haven't even found a chrome shop willing to let me pay them additional labor for the difficulty associated with dipping the grill in one peice

Then finding a grill suitable for chrome is another story, I bought 7 before I found 3. Who wants to cut apart a perfectly good grill and try to bolt it back together? Not me... I'm still lookin for a better option

I can get you a number for a company in Medford, Oregon. They'll most likely not have a problem dipping the whole thing. They were pretty reasonable too when I called to get estimates for rechroming items on the fire truck.

Unhappy grille

Try BOTP Truckparts or LMC Truck.
Both have online stores,but it's a lot of money
