well, hey to everyone. I am new to the site, i have had my truck for awhile. but i was wondering if anyone had ideas on the easiest way to remove the instrument cluster? maybe something that had worked for them. thx
The cover over the instrument cluster has two screws that hold it in. First remove the trim under the steering wheel. Then remove the two screws from the top panel. The remaining clips will come out as you lift the cluster cover off. The gauges then have I believe two screws holding them in from the top. The whole cluster will come out and all you need to do is unplug the wiring harnesses. If I remeber it is three or four harnesses.
Are you changing the whole cluster or just the color of the gauges? The mileage has to be programmed in the new cluster by the factory that produced it prior to installation. You cannot alter the mileage once it is installed.
