Can anyone tell me if Ford made a set of goodl flowing heads that will bolt up to my 1994 302? I know that sounds stupid but I'm looking for somethig that flows better; maybe something off the same era mustang. I want to drastically change how the truck runs. The cam, intake and carb will most likely be aftermarket. I have heard rumors of "X" heads but I wouldn't know one if it bit me on the nose. As usual, any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
Getting you some nice aftermarket free flowing long tubes will help your setup you are going for.
I cannot recomend any brands. Others here will know some.
Flowtech is the only one I can think of off hand.
Why would you want to switch to carb from fuel injection?
Did you mean throttle body?
Talyn he said heads not headers. If you are going with headers tho, Talyn got the part about the flowtechs right. Anyway, alot of guys use the GT40 heads like on the explorer 5.0 engines. They will probably be good for what you are looking to accomplish.
The GT 40 heads are good. There are a lot of good aftermarket heads for the 302/351. If you go with the gt40's I would have the ported. That would increase the flow.
the 351w uses the same heads at the 302 # E7TE, your best bet for performance would be AFR heads, and the extra flowing heads won't do any good with out a good flowing intake and exhaust, wouldn't hurt to upgrade the fuel system too
I'm not sure of the price. I know that it is going to varry from shop to shop. You can also do it your self with a dremel tool. I dont know if it is something I would attempt myself. You can check wit a local machine shop. Quality engine builders usually port heads.I have never had a set done myself. My uncle is the one tha does the high horse motors.
