Ok guys, I have a quesiton. I bought a '03 F350 with a 6.0 and the automatic about a month ago. Nice truck, runs good. Except - about twice now, when I first start it up in the morning, it has no power. Will not rev past about 1200 rpm's. After it warms up, no problem. Runs great. More power than I will ever need, stock. This only happens when it has been about 70 degrees, I jump in, start and go without any warm up. Any ideas?
My dealer says this happens at times, not to worry.
Despite what your dealer says it's NOT normal. Sounds like injectors to me. Ask your dealer if they can pull an OASIAS report to tell you what flash you have in the truck. If you don't have the latest flash then ask for it or pay to get it as it will help (not necessarily cure) with injector stiction/problems. The newest flash deals with a different turbo and injector strategy to help with past problems and aid in longevity.
i was having this problem, starting running a fuel additive and it cleaned it up, seems to have unleashed some power to, had 5 yards of gravel in the dump trailer a couple days ago, put the pedal down and the tires started spinning, i couldn't believe it
i had same problem, took mine into the dealer and they found two bad injectors. since then for about the first 20 starts i noticed blue smoking at first mile or two but has since stopped and runs like a top now.
