Auto Temp Control malfunctioning

I have posted this once before about a year ago. My Auto Temperture Control panel just went dead again. This is the second time this has happened. Last time it happened it was cold but this time it was hot and none of the controls worked. No air, no fan, nada! Well, I took it to the dealer and dropped it off not working, and they called me the next day and said it was working again. They could not find anything wrong with it and since it was working they could not do anything. So, now I have to wait until it stops again and try to get a tech to see that it isn't working so they can fix or replace it. Does anyone else out there have a similar problem????
Anyone know of a reason why this maybe doing this?

Electrical problems are really tough. See if you can find a wiring harness diagram of the A/C controls to find the relay that operates it. Relay's are USUALLY relatively cheap to replace. The other thing I would do is check the all the fuse's to make sure they are correctly plugged in and not making intermitent contact. One additional question: When you say auto temp control panel is it like a digital panel that controls separate sides of the truck to a specific temperature or something similiar or is it just standart A/C controls like most trucks have?

My 06 was doing same thing. Took it in and got same line you got. Several months later took it back in just shy of 36,000 miles (end of my bumper to bumper) and they replaced it that time; no more problems. Perhaps you can do some searches for forum posts and take that info to the dealer as you are not the first to have one that is intermittant.

good luck,

Bob

There have been some bad head units. When if stops working again, try turning your headlights on and off (cycle the headlight switch through all of the settings). If it restarts the temperature control unit again, the dealership needs to replace the head unit. If it isn't still covered under warranty, I believe it costs around $500.

Do a search and you'll find some previous posts on this same issue.
