Intend stripping fenders to bare metal, lot of surface rust, appears may have to take quite abit off to get to the rust. Used the Evercoat products; rage, z-grip, tiger hair, for repairing dents, etc. but as an occasional 'doit myselfer' thought I would check and see if anything new on market I can use that would act as a leveling filler. Intend following up w/ an epoxy surface primer but assume there is just so much filling the primer can do. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I use Marson Extream filler followed up with Evercoat 416 icing, sanded up to 320, there are no pin holes to fill and little time waisted trying to use a buidling primer.
you might want to see if the local bodyshop can order you some stuff or give you the name of a local distributor...I love the Dolphin Glaze used on top of the Rage (pink can)...it's easy to work with and finishes smooth..
Found the products mentioned are favorites and couple local auto paint suppliers carry them. Unable to find the Evercoat 416 'icing' but they do carry the 416 'metal glaze'. Since car is disassembled, believe will try little of both combinations and see what works for me best. Thanks again for the suggestions.
Sorry, icing is a generic term. The bottle does say glaze. The two most important things to remember is use the proper ratios (filler vs hardner) and the proper tecnique, as per the instructions. This will help reduce the pin holes.
