I hear ya BigGrizz76. You're probably right, in fact the inner wheel wells are also shot on the outer lip. I have both inners and outers, ready to weld in.
Anyway, i guess i was thinking kinda like 79 Posi, in that most of the money people spend is on extra stuff, especially engine upgrades. I'm looking to stay bone stock, i have the truck i have always wanted, i even like the color.
We'll see how this goes. I'm about to rip the bed off, one of these weekends. How heavy is that thing? It's a 6' flare side. I'm also a little worried about the gas hose... Pain in the neck or not?

Disconnect the filler hose and vent hose from the fender. Remove the tailgate to reduce the weight then two guys can lift it. Either have a third person there to pull the truck ahead with the box lifted or walk it backwards off the rails. You might consider having a pallet or some sort of dolly to set the box on so it's easy to move around later.
