I have a 1977 F-100 and when I roll the driver's side door window down it falls to rear. I have to push it forward with my hand to make it roll down straight. Same for when I try to roll it up.
What can cause this?
I just replaced the anti rattle kit and had no problems with the install, everything looks ok.
I'd say sticky wheel in the rails. Just use some grease on those rails and regulator piece. Maybe rails out of alignment or bent. However, I think my first suggestion we be the problem cure.

Broken plastic window roller, a common Ford problem. The roller has a pressed in stud that rotates within the roller, and bolts to the end of the regulator arm, the other end fits in the window channel. When the stud begins to come apart, the window tilts, when the stud breaks free of the roller, the glass falls into the door.
D6AZ-5323240-A .. Window Roller-also used on ALL Ford passenger cars 1973 thru 1979 (and later).
Available from your local Ford dealer (Ford list price $7.88) and NAPA, which can cross the above part number over to their brand.

i just recently put my windows in my doors after some rust proofing was done lol. the instal as you say for the weather strippnig and anti rattle kit was fairly easy. i had this problem and still to a little bit once the windown is like almost down. it tilts towads the back. i sprayed some liquid wrench on the rivit part of the wheel. then i put some grease on the channel. rolled it up a few times. you will have to actually put the grease where you want it with your finger because the wheel sometimes doesn't spin and just slides. kinda weird idk i'm guessing its not suppose to slide. i prob just put to much grease on it lol
I inspected the roller and it looked to be in good condition. While working the regulator, I noticed it flexing as the window went down. I was missing the bottom bolt that held it to the door. Don't know how I missed it last time but it would allow the regulator to move forward just enough to let the window fall back. Anyway, thanks for the help!
