EGT follow up

I posted a thread earlier in the week about high EGTs when pulling an 8,000 lb load with the DP tuner in the 40 hp mode. I had the pickup checked out again and found no exhaust, manifold or boost leaks. This shop specializes in diesel truck and is fairly reputable. He drove the pickup and was impressed with the DP tuner, they sell Banks. He felt the high EGTs in this area are not uncommon. One thing I forgot to mention is I live in Wyoming and most of my pulling is about 6000'. He claims altitude makes a difference. Any thoughts?

I have DP tuner, 4" exhaust and Kwik filter.
