Drained the battery now have problems
I employee of mine used my truck and left the lights on for 7 hrs . Deadof course . The battery is 2 months old . Tried to jump would run for while after jumper truck was unhooked. Just before shut off the guages Tach would quit.
I through another battery in it which I knew was charged . Started up drove around town was fine so headed home. (amp guage normal )On way (20 miles in to trip ) The ABS light would come on with brake application. Then tach died . (Amp guage low on scale ) Truck didn't shut off. But when pulling in drive acted like it .
I know some GM wont run with drained bat . But my older Ford would .Is this normal with the maf trucks ? I can't work on it tonight and with my hours at work may be weekend before I do. I don't have time to test everything. I'll charge other battery
up .And check it.
You think I killed the alt? I have had them die quick before. I have rebuilt ones on shelf .
Any Ideas to help move things along would be nice . I can check everything But But a ball park idea to shorten it would be nice.
I'm thank full for any reply .
Isn't there a fusible link in the alternator circuit ??
Might be that.
I forgot the tach was moving backwards right before the odom ETC died.
This tach has been in for 2000 + miles had same #'s as old one . And I took it out of 95 truck 2 18 05 .
I just checked and the battery is dead.
