what to look for
Im thinking about buying a 99 f-150 with the 4.2. It has 100,000 miles and its blown an engine already (from over heating. Dont ask me how the driver let that happen). It was replaced with a new one at around 50,000 miles. Supposidly this new engine has a larger oil pan or something (is that what ford did to fix it?) I was wondering what to look for on the engine that might give me signs its on its way out? Im getting worried after seeing all these posts. Its strange since i dont hear about nearly as many problems with fords other modular engines.
