Tranny Issues
Hi guys,
I've got 2004 F250 /w V10 & it seems like I've lost 2nd gear & passing gear.
When it tries to go to 2nd gear all that happens is the revs come up & the tranny seems to slip big time.
It is happening both when under load or even on a flat straight stretch.
I checked the fluid & it's nice & clean /w no burnt smell.
The temp gauge has never gotten past half way.
Does this sound like an electronics problem???
Thanks
Mikey

No, it doesnt sound at all like an electronic problem. How many miles do you have on your transmission?
What do you tow? How much does it weigh?

I tow a 24' TT loaded at about 7000 lbs. + 1100 Lbs. on the deck (2 ATV's)
The tranny has never gotten hot according to the temp guage & the fluid looks like new & doesn't smell burnt.

I'm no transmission expert, but it sounds like maybe a front pump problem.

well, if you are positive it is a tranny issue, with thoes symptoms, I would start with the tranny filter, it is cheap and easy to do and it looks like you are about due for a fluid and filter change anyway. I hope this helps.
I forgot to ask before, does the tranny act the same whether its hot or cold or just when its warm?
