Bridgestones and the Michelins are the best tire for wear, durability, and traction. I was wondering if anyone else has any experience with the Avon Brand tires?
I had some Avons on a work truck, they claimed they would have great durability. My experience was very lack luster. I do not remember the model, but this was 4 years ago or so on my work F150. Road manners was fine for the first year, about 15,000 miles. After that it slowly deteriated, especially winter and off road. Traction was fair and adaquate at first, then it started loosing traction all the time. By 25,000 miles the tread was worn enough that it contributed to me sliding off the road at least twice that year, and by 30,000 the tires needed to be replaced. For the money, I got better traction and wear from the Les Schwab sold Open Country tires.
The load range E would be a rougher riding tire so unless you need this carring capacity I would stay away from them. The Michelin would be a good choice for a good all around tire.
