soo now when i turn the key on the wait to start light stays on for 1 second and goes right to a relay and they dont work at all is it the relay or is it the glow plugs that sends it to the relay it reallly suck lol its kinda a pain to start in the morning
How old are the glow plugs? Is this vehicle new to you?
One thing to check or do. I ran a separate ground wire from the glow plug controler (located behind the air cleaner under a plastic cover). I ran it from the black wire which is under one of the bolts holding the controler to the intake manifold to the (-) on the battery.
*** BE CAREFULL ONE OF THE LEADS UNDER THE COVER IS DIRECT FROM THE BATTERY***
Corrosion will get under that bolt and give the controler fits.
If this isn't it then might have to get beru glow plugs.
well i just had the motor put in around winter last year soo i wonder if its just the glow plugs burnt out already all new motor and presumin new glowplugs it came with them in it. suppally its a new relay too soo i dont know i will check for corrision lol takes a while for it to start whne its around 65-70
Glow plugs in a 7.3 IDI glow shorter depending on how many glow plugs work. Test them by getting a test light, hook the clip to the hot post on the battery, then see if it will ground through the unplugged top of the glow plug. If the light comes on, it is good, if not, its no good.
