Ah that explains it. The Performer intakes were designed for stock engines and perform terrible on stroked ones. Just go ask MustangGT221 in the SBF engine section.
I think you will have to port it unless you step up to the Victor 5.8L lower but I don't know how well that will fit your heads since they have big ports.
