The 3U crank is a correct 390 part for 73-76 FE Trucks. Also, with regards to the piston skirts. The full shirt was old style, up to about 68, so anything newer or rebuilt would have the regular shirt tail skirts.
Good find and good luck. Take a peak at my gallery from chistmas of last year. Pulled the old 352 and dropped in a visually similar +.060 390.
Thanks to NumberDummy for the info. Glad to know the one on the frame will work so I didn't have to get that too.
Thanks to daveengelson. I did get the perches from the donor truck. The power steering, brake master cylinder, and alternator were all gone before I got to the truck.
jeff8362000- I haven't tore the 240 apart yet, and don't know much about it. It had problems overheating when I bought it.
Got the pivot bracket off Ebay. Sorry bill w., too late. Installed it yesterday and works great.
New problem I'm having is the cable from the 240 won't seem to work. Seems to be too long or the wrong style. Talked to the guy I bought the motor from and the truck was sent to the scrap yard. Do they still make them? Or should I find an aftermarket one?

Your present 240 cable is 28.66" long.
The one you need is 20.00" long: C5TZ-9A758-AH (65/66 F100/250 2WD V8)
This cable is obsolete. Green Sales doesn't have one. Someone makes a universal type replacement. I've seen references to them here, but I can't recall who sells them. I've also seen originals on ebay, but there are 5 different ones for 1965/66, so buyer beware (two are 28.66" long, the one you need is 20.00" long, the other two are 26.06" long).
