excessive smoke
I seem to have much more black smoke at take off especially if I give it some throttle, however it seems to vary from each start. If I punch it while I'm already moving along it doesn't put out too much smoke. Any thoughts?

Hmmm.
more need for air from a stop - less if your turbo is already spooled up when you're going already...
may be somewhat normal...
having any turbo noises - differences in sound / performance ?
may be an air filter ?
Air restrictions will cause incomplete combustion - smoke....
just throwing out some things...

Since you have 39K on the odometer and still under the 100K engine warranty. I would take it in and have the tecks give it the once over for the $100 deductable its worth it for peace of mind.
