Longevity

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 08-Dec-01 AT 12:03 PM (EST)]Hey!,
I'm shopping for a 2000 X-car and wuz wondering what kind of longevity you folks expect from your V10's??
What is the tuneup interval on them??
I drove a 28' RV to Florida one summer with the v10 and it handled it really well. Passed anything on the road I wanted to! It got 10MPG running the generator from the same tank the whole way. If I thought I could get 350000 miles out of one I'd jump on it. Any chance of that??

Your obedient servant,

JACIII

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 08-Dec-01 AT 05:44 PM (EST)]Probably only 300,000 miles (vs 350,000). ;-)

There's a guy on another site that says he has almost 200,000 on his '99 Super Duty w/V10 and has had no major problems. Still works it every day too!

Let's see....

300,000 miles minus the 250,000 my wife puts on it before she hands it down to me, leaves ME 50,000 miles of good use before I put a motor in it....

V10's oughta be pretty cheap by then.....

I think I'll do it.

Many thanks!

She does!

We went and closed the deal on a 2000 Limited V10 4x4 w/ Limited Slip 4.30 gears tonight. The dealer has some stuff to do to it - new tires, brakes, front Dif cover is leaking - and if it is to our satisfaction we (she) takes delivery tomorrow.

We are PUMPED!

Congrats on the new truck! When you get it home, be sure to create an album for it in your User Gallery.
