I realize this is a bit off subject but it's still a Ford, I have restored a 63 galaxie fastback /390 4 speed. It has manual steering so you know how it drives, my question is has anyone heard of a steering box that can be used to make this into power steering like so many here have done using the toyota box? Or maybe you know of a forum that could help with Ford car questions. THANKS for any help
Not sure, But, I think www.Jamcosuspension.com is one possible source. plus, I will see Sam of Sam's Vintage Ford at the meet in the AM, he builds these years and I think one has P/S. Will post in PM.

Try www.concoursparts.com They are in Carson City, Nevada, and they have a section on Galaxies, and other big cars. They do have power steering parts for the restorer.

The steering gear box is the same with or without power steering.
1960/64 Galaxies used a link type power steering.
Contact Mike at Big M in Chico, CA. He should have all the parts to convert to P/S.
You will need: power steering pump and mounting brackets, control valve and ram cylinder, 4 hoses and misc brackets and other pieces.
The 1965 and later Galaxie/LTD's used integral power steering..it won't work in a 1964 or earlier Galaxie.
I presently own 2 1963 Galaxies, and have owned over 20 1963/64's.

Just to clarify a little, I know that PS was an option for the 63 and that it can be added using all the available parts but I wanted to change the steering box to a PS box to do away with the cylinder etc and That's what I am looking for , thanks again

Can you provide more info? phone, web site ?? Thanks
OK, I think I know what you want now. There was a car at a show that had an integral box that fit into the stock hole of the 63. Looks like the Saginaw 605 but cast to fit the chassis bolt holes. It came from some Ford enthusiasts known as Gearheads Cruiser Products in ND. you can reach them at 701-223-2269 and www.ndgearheadscruiserproducts.com
I hope this helps you and I hope I understood you correctly. Now if I can just find the PS for my new 63 Falcon droptop I will be set.
