Surgery...

EEEEK!

As mentioned in the other thread...I'm taking a half day from work today to go have a surgery in Lees Summit.

I'm a bit nervous.

The upside is that I'm going to get to spend the weekend home in bed, drugged out of my mind.

...and the post op instructions include NO Booze for 48 hours......

Must not be too bad then. I have been needing a surgery for 2 years to remove a part of my colon but I'm not in any hurry to have it. Not to fond of the idea of them cutting my guts open and taking a section out.

I'd been avoiding it for some time...

Let's just say that I had some work done on my mouth. For those of you who have met me, you know that I have some serious issues. I'm on a plan through January of 08...but supposedly, this was the worst of it.

I was in some pain last night, but with enough drugs, I was able to sleep and actually feel almost like a human today.

Lots of work to do this year, and the beginning of next, but dentist says that 80-90 percent of my mouth pain should be gone effective yesterday. Too early to agree or disagree yet...it's gonna be a looooooooooong weekend.

Thanks. So far, so good. A little bit of discomfort this morning, but nothing outrageous. Of course, I'm also still on the drugs...

But I was able to eat some scrambled eggs this morning! Yay me!

Yeah, well...one piece at a time. As I mentioned, it will probably be January before I'm "done", but we're underway.

I'm bored out of my mind, but I'm home and fine.

Red face Dental Surgery?

Hey Terry hope you're doing ok. You have dental surgery? Been through that a couple times myself. Missed work monday due to a toothache. New o town, don't have a dentist, so none of these nice people (Dentist) would see me all last weekend. Nice time......................

I'm OK. A bit sore, but OK.

I've never had surgery before...dental or otherwise.

I went to a dentist a month or so ago who does a lot of work for folks that I know, so he came highly recommended.

The whole plan is long and involved, but step one was a referal to an oral surgeon who removed a bunch of teeth and did some work on my upper jaw bone.

I'm still on some heavy duty pain killers, but I just reduced my dose a few hours ago, and I'm feeling OK.

Can't wait til I can chew!!!!

OMG! I was kidding about the face thing Terry. I thought you were having a serious surgery, not a critical one. ROFLMAO

I really hope it goes ok. The most I've ever had like that would be Wisdom Tooth removal (that gives you something to come back on). I didn't have any issues with mine. My sister however, wow! She didn't do so well. Everybody reacts to things different. As much as you've drank, I'm bettin' you'll be fine. Hahahahahahaha

Get better buddy!! I may not come up for races for a while, but you tell me when you can eat good again and I'll make a special cookie run just for you!!

Thanks. The surgery part should be over...and so far, so good.

Which would explain your lack of wisdom... (nope...I'm not to proud to take the cheap shot!)

??? I'll tell you what...I'm ready for a drink now...and I'm not allowed!

Thanks for the well wishes...and so far, my recovery has been "normal" I'm not ready to chew real food again yet, but should be by next weekend.

Terry I'm glad to hear that your recovery is going well.

And frankly amazed that nobody had offered thier redneck surgury services. After all with this bunch I can gauaranty that there are a large number of power tools for removing old parts and fabricating new ones. After all what are "friends" for.

Glorious Beer huh? Must be a Boulavard! Now if they will just run that tap across the street to my office from the Porter tanks. Honest, it's only for lunch.
