Cool Squeaky F250 LD

I have been an onlooker to the forum for about a year now and had nothing to write about until recently. I've used a lot of advice from the posts to fix things and am thankful for your expertice.

I have a 98 F250 LD 5.4 with about 87 k miles on it. Lately, I've had to put up with the chasis/front end squeak. I followed your advice to change out the pitman arm, which unfortunately I purchased but couldn't get off myself and paid highway robbery $175 for labor.

The squeak is still there. I understand the needle and greasing the bushings, but is there a more permanent solution? Has anyone tried replacing with Energy Suspension bushings? I'm going to Autozone tomorrow, and they have them.

Welcome to the boards

It could be the control arm bushings or it could be the ball joints. Check them for play as well.

Thanks guys...I'll check those out. Would there be anything else that would cause it to squeak while turning the steering wheel in the garage and driving slowly through parking lots? If I take it apart, I might as well hit everything.

why take it apart if its not broke? get a needle tip for your grease gun & grease the ball joints and a oil can filled with a light weight oil and squirt every rubber bushing including the rear spring shackles- worked for me.
